DAY 6 – p90x after a whole day of singing

This is probably one of my busiest day this month. I was up early at 7am for our band practice for our youth fellowship at church. This was our first meeting and the event went until about 1:00pm. Then we had to play some more and we recorded one of the songs that we play a lot, “From the Inside Out” by Hillsong. This video will be up on my facebook soon. We also had our Choir Practice for the Easter presentation at 4pm (more singing). Finally got home at 6:30pm.

Tonight is Kenpo X night. I did it well with my sister. My dad tried it but his belly is so big that he can’t bend his body (LOL!). I enjoyed this workout a lot. I was sweating the whole time and stretching my arms and hamstrings like never before. I didn’t have any problem completing all the reps at the DVD’s pace. My kicking is not as beautiful as what they do though, but I’m feeling the intensity of it. That’s what really matters!! BRING IT!

DAY 5 – workout on almost empty stomach

I wanted to finish the workout early today so I can have a good long sleep for tomorrow because we have a Youth Meeting at our church at 10:00am. I play in the band so I have to practice early around 8:30.

When I got home I just had a peanut butter sandwich and started on Legs and Back workout after an hour. I thought I’d just eat more right after, which I did to.

I struggled on most of the pull-up routines. The leg exercise are OK. I did not push to hard and I think I did well with about 95% of reps of what Tony did. The calves raise was a thrill. That will improve my jumping and swimming ability. The squats and wall squats were killers, too. Burned me a lot but I LOVE IT! This really works and helps maintain my balance. So I’m excited to beat my goals next time.

And next week, I will try to do running at the gym in the morning 3 times a week to up this program a bit. I’m kind of doing my own thing here and we’ll see how it goes.

Oh.. and I had a big meal right after this workout. A Big bowl of noodles with green peas and carrots, protein shake and an apple.

DAY 4 – switch it up…

It is Bowling Night for me. I bowl in league every Thursday night from 6:00 to about 9:00pm. Tonight is kind of a big for me. For those of you who bowls, you know this… I scored 212 257 235 with a total of 704. I haven’t had a 700 series this year. Last year I had two. I’m hoping I could keep doing it every week. Really, hopefully. My shoulders were even a bit sore from last night’s shoulders workout. But I just shrugged it off.

I got home about 9:30 and got on my stuff right away. p90x tonight should had been Yoga X but again… My DVD failed me. It won’t play. So we just switched it up with Stretch X instead. I must say, this is one of my favorites. I’m not flexible and this would really help me a lot. I love the spinal intensity of it. During the workout, I pulled my spine a bit and it hurts for about a min. Overall, it was a great workout in these early days of p90x.

And for my diet… Before bowling, I took a Powerbar, 23g protein, and an egg & cheese sandwich. Lots of water and my MASS XXX drink after the workout. Didn’t really had enough of food right there. But Oh well…

DAY 3 – I think I drink too much protein shakes

Today’s Shoulders and Arms workout went pretty good. I used a lighter weight (15lbs) but I should have gotten one set of even lighter like 10lbs for the shoulder flys and upright rows. My friend came over tonight and we did it together. He was torn apart! haha! Not to mention the Ab ripper X is a killer! I should have taken a video on how we did the entire workout.

My concern is my diet. I had too much protein shakes, I think. I drink MASS XXX from GNC which offers 68g of protein and 980g of calories only 6g of fat. BUT… 123g of carbs. The suggested serving amount is 4 scoops but I’m only using 3 scoops coz my Magic Bullet doesn’t have enough room for four. Today I had 3 servings of these. If you do the math.. there’s lots of carbs there. Should I be concerned? I haven’t really read the entire Nutrition Guide and plus… I don’t have time to cook or prepare stuff. I thought I could live with this extreme workout with just supplements and lots of green leafy vegetables. Oh.. I haven’t mentioned I am a vegetarian (a pesca vegan). Aside from veggies, I still eat seafood, drink milk, consume eggs (on every shakes) and dairy products. I just got rid of any kind of meat out of my diet.

Shoot me some comments if you wish.

DAY 2 – p90x : Plyometrics

Day 2 is PLYOMETRICS. Also known as Jumping til you die… (jk, you don’t have to die with this)

This is cardio workout and lots and lots of jumping. Some of the extreme exercise are really really really tiring. You have to squat and jump and do it again with very minimum breaks. Although I did not complete this workout.. I still in pain. Not to mention I’m still a bit sore with last night’s.

Here’s why I did not finish it.. The dvd that I burned (yes it is a copy) was corrupted at 40mins out of 58mins workout. I stopped and tried to burn it again but I stopped too long and my heart went down. I gotta do the whole cardio before I start (that’s just me) and I received a phone call that involves business.. Money talks so I have to prioritize it.

Overall… I like this workout. This will really help my legs especially in basketball. I never really had any good leg workout when I’m at the gym.

Oh and I tried the strawberry Mass XXX from GNC today. I like it!

DAY 1 of my p90x

Okay… So I’m back to blogging. (This is mainly because I want to document my p90x workout.)

My friend at work told me about this p90x.. and to be honest, I kinda ignored it coz she’s not really that type of a person who would seriously do something like this. But after a couple days I thought about searching it on Google and I found very interesting videos instead on Youtube. Ofcourse, where else can you find GOOD videos on the internets? ?

After hours and hours of youtube videos of people who had great results with P90x, I was SOLD!! and I told myself I can do it, too. And this is where the fun begins…

DAY 1: Prepare your equipments and prepare yourself

I already got some dumbbells so I didn’t have to buy those. Bought me some GNC protein shakes and Vitapak worth $125. Need to have pullup bars at home and the easiest and cheapest solution I had in mind is the resistance band. I went to local Sports Shop and I was unlucky to find one with door hanger. So… I bought an IRON GYM Extreme …$44. Not cheap to begin with, but the result after 90 days… Priceless.

The workout: CHEST and BACK / Ab Ripper X

MAN this is HAAAAARRRD! It was a lot harder than I thought. Some routines I could not even complete the whole 10reps. I was struggling on 6-8. Most pull ups I did only 8 reps. But it’s OK. It is just the beginning. My elbows are really weak anyways, that’s one thing I really need to work on. And the AB RIPPER X.. 25reps seem to be less than you think, but after doing first few sets of the p90x routines… I could not even breathe! This thing really works! You know it’s effective if it hurts you.

One thing I will not do is QUIT. I’m in this til I get to p90x+ !!
