Did Yahoo Music Engine killed FairUse4WM?

Have you ever wish FU4WM existed when Microsoft released their DRM? I think it’s one of my favorite hack for this year. I’m enjoying it with my all you can eat Y! Unlimited subscription.

But this past couple of days, Yahoo Music Engine is requesting me to update the player. Doh?! why would I do that? Aside from the ever longing bugs from its beta version, everything works fine the way I wanted it to be –that is to download as much as I can and unDRM each and every wma files of ‘em. I know once I download the update everything will come to an end.

I’m glad I have other machine to test it with and I did. Well… here’s what happened.
I used my laptop to update my YME as a labrat. Downloaded 1 song, and opened it with FairUse4WM.exe. FU4WM tried to recover a key by opening a protected file. I expect it to freeze like it says it will until Windows Media Player (I got v11) closes but, …not FOREVER. Both YME and FU4WM frozed more than 20mins and I just gave up and killed the process. This might be the end of unDRMing downloaded Yahoo files.

Microsoft must have just patched my favorite hack and first rolled out with Yahoo :(
On my other machine (desktop), never will I update my YME beta. Screw you Yahoo!

.quit bowling

I missed 2 weeks of our bowling league. Last week my dad wasn’t feeling well so we just pass it and meaning to do a post bowl for that week. Yesterday, I decided I will no longer continue the league. It’s a bit boring anyway. Players are not fun to be with compared to other leagues. Whenever I play this league, I am looking for something that will get me excited to go back the next week. Not that I suck at the game, but it’s the game experience with the opponents that ticed me off.

The secretary just called and was worried about us not attending for 2 consecutive weeks now. I should’ve called her yesterday and I was going to.

The other reason is, I want to start focusing on my web skills right now. I want to learn advanced web design like CSS and PHP coding. I am currently browsing some books that will help me with that. And, hopefully get active on blogging again.

Slackr 0.0.5

Another day has past. I have been planning to write a post and start a new blog about tech and my opinions. A blog that will entertain questions from random readers. Goal is, to be a computer consultant in some odd ways someday even without having a degree in IT, –maybe.

How did I do today: (1) listed an auction on eBay (2) edited a single line php code in which I have no clue therefore consumed an hour on a 5 sec job (3) skipped another game on my bowling league, oh! I would quit by the way. (4) since I cannot go to the gym tonight, I worked out at my bedroom while watching an episode of Studio 60 and One Tree Hill.

Is there a way to have so much time on so many things to do aside from creating a cylon clone?
