Last posting on this blog was on February…
Well… I don’t spend much time on the internet nowadays but just on my eBay and craigslist. When I commute, I usually listen to podcast but now, I’m a fan of NPR. I recently sold my 16GB iPod Touch and use my Blackberry Curve to listen to my audio podcast. I miss the internets.
My photography hobby had been a toll for a quite a while now as well. I’m still into sports; bowling and basketball. My bowling is doing great and getting higher average than last year. I regularly go to the gym and play basketball every week.
Job is great and new opportunities are just around the corner. Just work and play is all I do now. Sorry for not paying the web much attention than I used to. But I’m big with email now, just shoot me an email and we’ll talk. I find email very productive than IM. With IMs, you are obligated to sit and wait for the other party to respond; while with email, you just send it and not have to worry if you get a quick response or not. It’s an email! You don’t expect a reply in a sec. I like it that way. If it’s an urgent message, I would either call or send a text message. But for some reason I kind of hate when people don’t hit reply. It’s OK to just acknowledge an email, people. Trust me, your friends will appreciate it rather than wait for you guys to see each other and comment on that particular thought.

Lunar eclipse Feb. 20, 2008

One of my most exciting experience in photography is taking this Lunar eclipse. The moon was hiding behind the thick clouds over here in our area. There were only a few glances of the moon in which you can see the eclipse, an average of 10secs between 10:00pm to 10:30pm. I did not stay longer than 10:30 because I know the clouds are forming around it and it is impossible for me to see the exit.
I did more mistakes in taking pictures than getting good focus of the moon. I did not turn the auto power off right away that’s why even with the remote, I find myself touching the camera and mess around with the tripod to turn it ON thus moving it out of focus. Then the AUTO FOCUS was ON and it keeps refocusing ofcourse. What I did was.. I let the lens do AF as soon as I saw it then locked it, switch to MF, used the remote and start taking shots in RAW+JPG.
I like RAW because I can really adjust the clarity of the image and have my own white balance. Although here there’s no white to work on.

I bowl at Triad Lanes on Thursday nights, All-American Classic League and last Thurs. was my best game, yet. I did 280 on first game, 246 on 2nd and 258 on 3rd. I felt really great on my first game. That 280 was my closest game to 300. I have not gone this far, not even on my practices. I had all strikes but 2nd frame which was a 9-spare. On my 2nd game, I was a little shook up after that 280 especially having all these other bowlers tapping my shoulders and praising the big game I just did. I thought for a second I was a rockstar, I wonder what more if I did 300? So I grabbed me a bottle of Miller Lite to relax a little even though I told myself not to drink that night. With the money I won from high game and card pot, I paid cash. My last game, I was hoping for a 300. That journey to “three-O-O” went down on the 8th frame [a 9-spare again]. But then I had the chance to 800 series. I managed to strike the 9th frame and kinda nervous on the 10th. I messed it up big time when I missed my mark and went left side leaving 3 pins behind. I spared it and 9 pins on the last frame. I ended up with 784 series which is my second 700 series and first on a league. It’s a big step for me and really for me still not something to brag about. My buddy, though, is telling everybody that I am a damn good bowler. Proud of it.
The next night, Friday, I did not do well. I did not even make it to 600. Everybody found out and is glad that a young rookie bowler like me who just started bowling 2 years ago would be closer and closer to getting a perfect game, but sucks that very next night. Too early for a break.
Saturday, the tournament at Gate City Lanes for Men’s City Greater Greensboro Tournament is up. I had a 9am and 3pm. The morning game was not any good at all. A low 563 series. Shameful score. After that game, I went home, took a nap and got back for another 3 games.
My score on the first game was 125! Freaking 125. I think the hooters card deck screwed my game up. Second game was a decent 185. Last game was 143. Ended with 453 series. Lowest game so far and it’s on a tourny! I hate that game and not to mention I lost all my money to Bill. I was getting most pocket for splits and not picking up single pins. I need to step up a notch to for the Singles and Doubles match tomorrow. I can’t believe how I suck on this game today. What would you call a bowler who shot 784 and couple days later went to 453?

This was from a friend I visited one night before Thanksgiving. Taken from a camera phone, pretty good capture, eh.
This blog has been frozen for a long time, I will be doing some photography this time. I just got a new Canon Rebel XTi. Not a Pro SLR but at least I can start on this one. I am joining a Photography meetup group to develop the skill. You’ll be seeing more pictures by me from here on out.

I missed work today due to stomach upset or it could be Food Poisoning.
By the way… someboy told me (one of my few blog reader) that I should write something personal here sometimes. Nuff of tech news.
5 a.m. - Early morning my tummy just crumbled and it hurts so badly that I could barely move. I made myself a hot cocoa thinking it would relieve some of the pain. After a few minutes, it still hurts like I got beaten up. I tried to eat some cuz I thought I must be hungry. Well… I can’t taste the food and I cannot even swallow the bread. So I searched our kitchen pantry for Campbell’s soup. I had mushroom soup and at least it gave me some relief.
An hour later, just as I finished the soup, and just as I finished throwing up, I remembered that I need TUMS. I took 4 tablets. Went back to bed and it’s still hurting but I just slept through the pain. I continued taking TUMS every 4 hours or so, 2 tabs each. But everytime I take a nap, I would dream of some weird stuff. I thought I’m dying. I saw a lot of my long lost friends that came to visit me in my dreams. It felt so real. In those dreams, I was still feeling the pain.
I spent the whole day drinking a lot of water, a lot of sleep and viewing web lessons by Lynda.com. Over all, my day was not so bad at all.
Thank God I’m still alive and I’m sure that He is always there and we should just hold on to Him no matter what.

We just got back from NJ and NY, and the walk is long; rain poured all Sunday night. The weather was fair and it would have been nice to wear these pair of Heat Sensitive Shoes from PUMA. Its color changes as the temperature drops or rises. I’d walk this out!
–I forgot to visit the famous Apple Store in New York.

Since I installed OpenDNS, I have had websites that are blocked due to it falls under adult-themed sites. For example, myspacecdn.com domain is being used as photos by Myspace. Everytime I visit myspace, pictures don’t show up. I had to turn off some of my Adult Blocking filters on OpenDNS’ Dashboard just to view the site properly. Thankfully, now there’s whitelist. Whitelist allows you to visit domains regardless of any content filtering.

Apple just released a new iMac with some cool new design and processor. It supports Core 2 Duo and it got thinner!! It’s so sleek makes me wanna slave myself. If anybody would buy me a 24″ iMac, I can work for him/her for 300hrs. I’m serious. I know there’s also a new Mac mini but the mini does not have an iSight, the thin keyboard and the sexy monitor that iMac has.

At last, here comes an iPod accessory that’s really useful aside from Nike+ Sport. Timex just released Ironman iControl watch that allows you to control your iPod on your wrist wirelessly. You can control Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down and Track Forward/Backwards. It looks to me on their website that it only supports Nano at this time. For $125, not a bad Timex Indiglo® and a gym accessory. Ships on 08/10.
